ClaridexPrivacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Claridex LLC ("Claridex", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when a Shopify merchant installs and uses the Claridex app ("the App"). Claridex is an AI search and SEO optimization tool for Shopify stores.
By installing the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
1. Who this policy covers
This policy covers merchants who install Claridex on their Shopify store. Claridex is a business-to-business tool. We do not knowingly collect personal information from the merchant's own customers (shoppers). See Section 4 for how we handle order data without customer PII.
2. Information we collect
When you install and use Claridex, we collect and store:
- Store information: your myshopify domain, shop name, primary locale, plan tier, and install/uninstall status.
- Product catalog data: product titles, descriptions, meta titles, meta descriptions, product types, tags, image counts, alt text, variant counts, and publication status. This is the content Claridex audits, scores, and optimizes.
- Optimization history: snapshots of the original and AI-generated values for any field you choose to optimize, so changes can be reverted.
- Usage and billing data: generation counts, AI token usage, cost, and subscription status, used to enforce plan limits and bill correctly through Shopify.
- Aggregated, PII-free order signals: for the AI Revenue Attribution feature, we read order total, order date, and customer-journey channel signals (referrer URL, UTM parameters, channel information) to classify which orders were influenced by an AI shopping assistant.
3. Information we do NOT collect
We do not collect, store, or display:
- Customer names, emails, or phone numbers
- Customer shipping or billing addresses
- Payment card or financial account details
- Any customer personal data beyond the non-PII channel signals described in Section 2
PII is removed from order webhook payloads before any data is enqueued for processing or written to our database. Attribution records store only the matched channel signal (for example, "chatgpt.com"), never full URLs or customer fields.
4. How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Audit and score your product catalog for search and AI discoverability
- Generate optimized content (meta titles, descriptions, alt text, highlights, FAQ) for your approval
- Apply approved changes to your store and let you revert them
- Show you which AI channels are associated with revenue (AI Revenue Attribution)
- Enforce plan limits, prevent abuse, and bill correctly
- Send transactional notifications (audit complete, new product detected, score alerts)
- Monitor errors and improve the App
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data to train third-party AI models.
5. AI processing
Claridex uses Anthropic's Claude models to generate optimized content from your product data. Product content is sent to Anthropic solely to produce the suggested copy you review. Our Anthropic account is configured for zero-day data retention, meaning Anthropic does not retain this data after the request is processed and does not use it for model training.
6. Subprocessors
We share data with the following subprocessors only as needed to operate the App:

A current subprocessor list is maintained in our Data Processing Agreement.
7. Data retention
- Product and catalog data is retained while the App is installed.
- Optimization snapshots are retained for at least 90 days so changes remain revertible.
- PII-free order-attribution records are pruned on a 90-day schedule.
- When you uninstall the App or we receive a
shop/redactrequest from Shopify, we delete your merchant data from our systems and cancel any pending background jobs.
8. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (including the GDPR for EU merchants), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your data. To exercise these rights, contact us at claridex.admin@gmail.com. Shopify's mandatory data-request and redaction webhooks (customers/data_request, customers/redact, shop/redact) are fully implemented.
9. Security
We protect data with encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and the principle of least privilege. We request only the Shopify scopes the App needs to function (see our scope justification).
10. International transfers
Data may be processed in the United States and other countries where our subprocessors operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, communicated in-app.
