Understanding Your Claridex Score
Your Claridex Score is a single measure of how ready your catalog is to be found in search engines and recommended by AI shopping assistants.
What the score measures
The Claridex Score combines two sub-scores:
- SEO sub-score -- How well your product pages are structured for traditional search engines like Google. This covers titles, descriptions, meta content, image alt text, and other on-page signals.
- AI Discovery sub-score -- How easily AI shopping assistants (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot) can read, understand, and recommend your products. This covers content clarity, structured data, attribute completeness, and machine-readable signals.
The overall score runs from 0 to 100. It is a weighted combination of both sub-scores, reflecting that both search and AI discovery matter for product visibility today.
Score tiers
Your score falls into one of three tiers:
- Strong (70+) -- Your catalog is well-optimized. Keep it maintained and look for the remaining opportunities to move closer to 100.
- Getting There (40--69) -- You have a solid foundation with clear room for improvement. The opportunities list on your dashboard shows where to focus.
- Needs Work (below 40) -- Significant gaps exist. Start with the top opportunities -- they are ordered by impact, so the first few changes will move your score the most.
How the score is calculated
Claridex evaluates 22 factors across your catalog, covering both SEO and AI Discovery. Each factor checks a specific aspect of product readiness -- like whether descriptions are detailed enough, whether images have alt text, or whether structured attributes are present.
The score reflects your entire catalog, not just one product. If 80% of your products have strong descriptions but 20% are thin, the score reflects the overall picture and shows you exactly which products to improve.
Per-product scores
Every product in your catalog gets its own score. Navigate to the Products page to see the list sorted by score. Click any product to see its factor-by-factor breakdown with specific recommendations.
How to improve your score
- Check your dashboard -- the top opportunities are ordered by how much they can move your overall score.
- Generate optimized content -- Claridex creates professional suggestions for titles, descriptions, alt text, highlights, and FAQ content.
- Review and apply -- Nothing changes until you approve. Every change is revertible.
- Re-check after changes -- Your score updates as you apply optimizations, so you can see progress in real time.
